45th Apadefim Paella: tradition, tribute and more than 900 portions shared.

On July 24, the meadow of the Hospital de La Granja de San Ildefonso hosted the 45th edition of the Apadefim Paella, an emblematic event for the Association of Segovia. The event brought together users, families, professionals, volunteers and institutional representatives in a festive atmosphere marked by gratitude, emotion and conviviality.

More than 900 servings of paella were served thanks to the joint work of the Segovia Cooks Association, Fundación Personas staff and volunteers, who made possible, once again, this intergenerational meeting and loaded with symbolism for the entity. This year, moreover, it was the first paella with Carlos Martín Pérez as the new president of Apadefim and Fundación Personas.

Several very special tributes were held during the day:

  • To users who have reached 65 years of age, recognizing their life history and their trajectory in the entity.
  • To Esteher Marcos Pastor, Volunteer of the Year , as a sign of the commitment and dedication that characterizes Apadefim’s volunteers.
  • And a heartfelt recognition to the cooks who have been part of this tradition and who have recently passed away, leaving an indelible mark in each edition.

The event was attended by Samuel Alonso, Mayor of La Granja de San Ildefonso, the Government Subdelegate in Segovia, the Mayoress of La Lastrilla and the Territorial Manager of Social Services of Segovia. Also in attendance were representatives of the local corporations of La Granja and Segovia, as well as the Provincial Council.

Thanks to all those who participated and collaborated in this new edition, the Apadefim paella once again demonstrated that it is much more than a gastronomic event: it is a celebration of shared life, of the bonds that unite us and of the value of each person.
