Fundación Personas is once again celebrating International Women’s Rights Day, to be held on March 8. On this occasion, the social entity wants to highlight one of the data extracted from its latest climate study, which shows that 9 out of 10 professionals of the entity believe that there is equal treatment and opportunities between women and men, that is, 90.84% of its staff.
Since 2016, Fundación Personas has been working in favor of equality between women and men in the workplace. It was precisely in that year when it drew up its first equality plan which now, in January 2022, has been renewed for the following 4 years.
This new Plan, agreed with the legal representatives of the most representative workers and unions, establishes actions in nine areas: access to employment, professional promotion, training, communication, reconciliation of personal, family and work life, prevention of sexual harassment and gender-based harassment, gender-based violence, occupational health and equal pay.
In addition, since July 2021, Fundación Personas has been awarded with the Distinction Óptima Castilla y León granted by the Regional Government of Castilla y León with the aim of “giving public recognition to those entities that, in addition to complying with current obligations, voluntarily adopt policies aimed at implementing measures, improvement processes and good practices in their human resources management and organization model in terms of equal opportunities between women and men, reconciliation of personal, family and work life, and elimination of the gender pay gap in Castilla y León”.
Women. Disability. Equality
Fundación Personas wants to join the celebration of 8M joining the campaign from Plena Inclusion will be launched in defense of the group of disability, under the slogan #DaLaCaraXLaIgualdad. This year the focus is on highlighting the role of women with intellectual disabilities. To do this and through some cards / cards will show the active image, dynamic and empowered women in counterpoint to the challenges that remain to be achieved.
Equality for a more sustainable future
In addition to joining efforts in the Plena Inclusion campaign, Fundación Personas joins the celebration of this Women’s Day 2022 with the theme set by the UN “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow” which recognizes the contribution of women and girls around the world, who are leading efforts to respond, mitigate and adapt to climate change to build a more sustainable future for all people.
Enhancing gender equality in the context of the climate crisis and disaster risk reduction is one of the greatest global challenges of the 21st century. Climate change and sustainability issues have had and will continue to have serious and lasting consequences on our social, economic and environmental development. The most vulnerable and marginalized people suffer the most dire effects. It is increasingly evident that women are more vulnerable to the impact of climate change than men, as they make up the majority of the world’s poor and are more dependent on natural resources that are under threat from climate change.
