The LECRAC cultural center is hosting from today the exhibition INTEGRArte. Art that adds looksa multiple, accessible and participatory artistic proposal promoted by Fundación Personas, in collaboration with LECRAC and the MIRAR Project, which can be visited until March 8.
The opening ceremony, held this morning, was attended by the mayoress of Palencia, together with institutional representatives and collaborating social and cultural entities.
ÍNTEGRArte is part of the line of work of Fundación Personas, a reference entity in Castilla y León in the care and support of people with intellectual disabilities and their families, which is committed to culture and artistic creation as tools for real inclusion, social participation and community transformation.
The exhibition understands art as a common language capable of uniting abilities, ages, bodies, sensibilities and diverse forms of expression. The proposal focuses on the creative process, collaboration and shared experience, conceiving art as a space of encounter, respect and collective creation.
Under the theme “Art without labels”, the exhibition brings together works created by people with different abilities, backgrounds and artistic languages. Among the exhibited pieces are projects such as Cachacicleta, Abrazapájaros, Macrocuadros, handmade creations, artistic photography and video creations, all of them sharing space and gaze without hierarchies or differentiated categories.
The exhibition also includes an interactive workshop on micro-birds, taught by participants of the MIRAR Project of Fundación Personas, as well as a participatory space entitled “IntegrAR making Carnival”, a living area where the collective work is continuously built with the participation of the public.
INTEGRArte conceives inclusion as a real and daily practice, betting on physical and cognitive accessibility, free rhythms of travel and inclusive cultural mediation, allowing to observe, participate or simply be.
