Throughout Monday, April 28, the first edition of the MARCHA-MIRAR-FEST was held along with meetings of self-advocates and boards of directors of the associations in the Envite building, headquarters of Fundación Personas in Valladolid.
Families and users have direct participation in this strategic debate for the years 2022 to 2026, whose primary objective is to continue offering more and better services to people with intellectual disabilities and their families, strengthening their quality of life, but also to other groups that demand more and more support within the framework of social services in Castilla y León.
The day was attended by 120 people from Guardo, Segovia, Aguilar de Campoo, Zamora, Palencia and Valladolid and among the activities there was space for creativity, a performance of Libera Teatro and solidarity ecology.
All within the Project MIRAR which for the past two years has stimulated the artistic skills of all its participants. It is a pioneering and accessible project, promoted by our friend Leo Harlem. Leo Harlem and that has been a breath of fresh air in difficult times.

We hope that the “Tree of Peace” that was planted and the group photo forming the word PEACE will bear fruit and bring peace of mind to so many people and families who are living a nightmare. In the words of Ángeles Garcia, president of Fundación Personas, “as a social entity, we always claim -and fortunately receive- the solidarity support of the whole society, it is obligatory to have a few words of comfort for the Ukrainian people and support for the refugees that we will also welcome in all the entities of Plena Inclusion in the coming days”.

Continuing to paint, dance, work and share skills is part of the dynamic objectives of a day like this, which is stimulated and complemented by daily action in each center and service of Fundación Personas.
About Fundación Personas
Fundación Personas was created in 2008 by five associations in Castilla y León: ADECAS Guardo, ASPANIS Palencia, APADEFIM Segovia, ASPRONA Valladolid and ASPROSUB Zamora. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. To do this we provide comprehensive services, in the environment and covering all stages of the life cycle of a person. The founding associations belong to the family movement Plena Inclusion movement and bring 60 years of experience, share innovation and foster mutual collaboration.
With a regional presence, we are present in 30 towns in Castilla y León, urban centers and rural areas, where we attend to situations of disability or dependence and provide support for the promotion of personal autonomy. We also offer support and training to people at risk of social exclusion. Our activity is governed by criteria of quality and proximity in service; efficiency and transparency in management; equal opportunities, accessibility and respect for diversity as a driver of social transformation.
