5th Meeting of Innovation Fundación Personas held
Art, transformation, 3D future and social engagement
More than 100 multidisciplinary professionals have gathered to share knowledge and best practices, fostering teamwork and promoting experiences of innovation and quality in the continuous improvement of the services received by each person with intellectual disabilities.
The conference was attended by the Director General for the Elderly, People with Disabilities and Dependency Care of the Junta de Castilla y León, Pablo Rodríguez, and was closed by the President of Fundación Personas, Manuel Fernández.
The general director of the Foundation, Jesús Mazariegos, opened the conference by reflecting on the new technologies as the axis and the attention to each person as the main reason for the day-to-day work of the professionals who were summoned.
Presented by journalist Andrea Magdalena Rojo, from RTVCYL, the event featured speeches by Laura Garrido, from APADIS Madrid, talking about active support, a methodology that helps in the process of transforming services aimed at generating healthy environments.
From Palencia, Guardo and Aguilar showed art and culture as tools for self-esteem and active participation in the community, gaining visibility and working as a team.
We learned that people with intellectual disabilities in Segovia volunteer with different groups and organizations in the city, establishing a chain of value, support and social progress.
The delegation of Fundación Personas in Zamora made a demo with 3D printers, where technology, in addition to promoting creativity, has therapeutic rehabilitation purposes (adapters for spoons, forks, door keys…).
And in Valladolid they presented a pilot project under the paradigm of independent living that aims to empower the people we support, so that they can decide on the activities to be carried out in alliance with different community resources.
Finally, a summary of the Admirable Practices of Plena Inclusion organized in Zaragoza was also shown, which recognized the excellence of 3 projects that speak of innovation and transformation: “Yo, Tú, Ellas… Ellas en movimiento” (Me, You, Them… Them in movement), “Generando sinergias con la Administración” (Generating synergies with the Administration) and “Campaña #MiVotoCuenta” (#MyVoteCuenta Campaign).
