The CAVIDLAB project aims to develop several measurement instruments that will allow the identification of areas for improvement in relation to the quality of work life of workers in the social sector and sheltered employment.

Fundación Personas has promoted this innovative research project called CAVIDLAB, funded by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Employment of the Junta de Castilla y León, which aims to build and validate two scales to assess the quality of work life that can serve as a national reference for improving the welfare of professionals in social organizations that provide support to people with disabilities as well as those working in Special Employment Centers (CEE).

CAVIDLAB was created with the intention of providing objective and effective tools to measure the satisfaction, well-being and working conditions of employees in work environments in the social services and disability sector, where until now there has been no specialized evaluation framework. This initiative is intended to lay the foundations of measurement to consolidate in the future a reference model for improving the quality of working life in the disability sector, with a comprehensive approach and focused on the needs of people.

The project has a broad panel of collaborators integrating different perspectives and roles, with Fundación Personas as the promoting entity, the Junta de Castilla y León (Consejería de Industria, Comercio y Empleo) as the funding entity, the University of Salamanca (Instituto de Integración en la Comunidad – INICO) as the research center, and Plena Inclusión España / Plena Inclusión Castilla y León as representatives of the entities that provide support to people with intellectual disabilities and their families.

The measurement tools will be available for nationwide dissemination by the end of 2026, allowing the results obtained to serve as a guide for entities and public administrations throughout the territory, generating a multiplier effect as knowledge of their results and applications is expanded in the technical, political and social spheres, contributing to the continuous improvement of the working environments of our sector.

A CRUCIAL AND NECESSARY STEP FOR THE SOCIAL SECTOR

“With the launch of CAVIDLAB, we want to take a decisive step towards the creation of a standard of quality of working life in the disability sector,” emphasizes Daniel Clavero, CEO of Fundación Personas. “This project not only seeks to contribute to improving the working conditions of workers in our sector, with or without disabilities, but also to give them a greater role, more than deserved, as a key element within the organization without which the fulfillment of its social objectives would be impossible.”

Fundación Personas was created in 2008 by five associations in Castilla y León: ADECAS Guardo, ASPANIS Palencia, APADEFIM Segovia, ASPRONA Valladolid and ASPROSUB Zamora. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. To do this we provide comprehensive services, in the environment and covering all stages of the life cycle of a person. The founding associations belong to the family movement Plena Inclusion movement and bring 60 years of experience, share innovation and foster mutual collaboration.

With a regional presence, we are present in 30 towns in Castilla y León, urban centers and rural areas, where we attend to situations of disability or dependence and provide support for the promotion of personal autonomy. We also offer support and training to people at risk of social exclusion. Our activity is governed by criteria of quality and proximity in care; efficiency and transparency in management; equal opportunities, accessibility and respect for diversity as a driver of social transformation.

In the educational-care area, we manage 5,300 places daily in 75 centers, distributed in more than 30 locations in Valladolid, Palencia, Segovia and Zamora. In the area of employment, Fundación Personas has 3 Special Employment Centers (CEE) Lince Group S.L.U., APADEFIM 2000 S.L.U.. and CEE Fundación Personas – with a workforce of 939 employees, more than 90% of whom have some type of disability.
