Monica is one of the 700 users who access Fundación Personas transportation every day. There are more than 50 routes throughout the community, especially in rural areas. They travel 8,000 km every day.

María Álvarez, Director of the Viana Center at Fundación Personas Valladolid, points out that otherwise it would be very difficult to transport in private vehicles since many families lack transportation to access the centers.

It is an essential service for them without these routes neither Monica nor her companions would be able to participate in the workshops of this day center in Viana de Cega in Valladolid. Now the trips have an extra cost of 40% due to the price of fuel. Plena Inclusion has studied the increase in all expenses; electricity has gone up 72%, gas 32%.

Vanesa García Manager of Plena Inclusion in Castilla y León tells us that adding all these increases it is estimated that it is approximately 9% what has risen compared to the same month last year, that is, if an entity manages for example € 1M would mean € 90,000 more, so it is difficult to maintain all services. What is demanded is that the prices and that the Public Administration makes that effort to compensate the financings with the current prices that we have to face.

Plena Inclusion associations support 6,000 people with intellectual disabilities in Castilla y León.
