The President of the Provincial Council of ValladolidConrado Íscar, visited this morning the Day and Residential Center Viana, accompanied by the deputy of the Family Service, Equality, Social Action and Residential Centers, Alfonso Romo, and the mayor of Viana de Cega, Alberto J. Collantes and Esther Fernández Grande, councilor of Social Action, Education and Culture of Viana.

The visit served as an institutional presentation of the new presidency of Fundación Personas, headed by Carlos Martín, president, and Amando Cacho, vice-president, together with the general director of the entity, Daniel Clavero, and the delegate in Valladolid, Mª Eugenia del Olmo.
During the tour, the representatives of the Provincial Council have been able to see first hand the different resources offered by the complex, which since 1979 serves adults with intellectual disabilities and high support needs. The Viana Center has two main services: a residential area, which provides care to 62 people in different adapted spaces, and a Day Center, opened in 2014, which welcomes 79 users, combining adapted activities, individualized support and programs to improve quality of life and personal autonomy.

The visit was also an opportunity to review the close collaboration between the Provincial Council of Valladolid and Fundación Personas since 1995, when an agreement was signed to provide residential and transportation solutions for people with disabilities in rural areas and to support the maintenance of services.
From Fundación Personas we appreciate the visit of the President of the Provincial Council and his team, as well as the commitment shown over the years to ensure resources and support to promote inclusion and equal opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities in our province.
