On September 19, the closing conference RuralCare: long-term care focused on people in rural areas was held. The event took place in the Palacio de Congresos Conde Ansúrez of the UVa.
Fundación Personas provides support in the RuralCare Program RuralCare Program of the Junta de Castilla y Leónwith personalized home care.
From Fundación Personas we are sharing the results of the RuralCare project at the closing conference with the participation of our general director, Jesús Mazariegos and our colleague and project manager, Laura Merino.
Laura Merino, participating in the Rural Care Closing in the RuralCare table told by its actors #RuralCare “the rural environment has some peculiarities that most of the time are a real challenge”.
The Councilor for Family and Equal Opportunities, Isabel Blanco, took advantage of the presentation of the results of the program to highlight its “clear rurality”, since it has brought advantages in the area of care but also created jobs, settled the population and promoted equal opportunities.
The Councilor was pleased that Rural Care has demonstrated that it is “possible” and “viable” to offer personalized care in the environment where people live. The initial objective was to attend to 150 elderly people, although in the end there were 183.
About Fundación Personas
Fundación Personas was created in 2008 by five associations in Castilla y León: ADECAS Guardo, ASPANIS Palencia, APADEFIM Segovia, ASPRONA Valladolid and ASPROSUB Zamora. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. To do this we provide comprehensive services, in the environment and covering all stages of the life cycle of a person. In the educational-care area, we manage 5,300 places daily in 75 centers, distributed in more than 30 locations in Valladolid, Palencia, Segovia and Zamora. In the labor area, Fundación Personas has 3 Special Employment Centers (CEE) Lince Group S.L.U., APADEFIM 2000 S.L.U.. and CEE Fundación Personas – with a workforce of 939 employees, more than 90% of whom have some type of disability.
