The event also included the recognition of professionals with 25 years of experience.
The “Tree of Values” is the award with which Fundación Personas recognizes professional or personal careers strongly committed to intellectual disability.
It symbolizes values of inclusion, equality, progress, quality of life, solidarity, innovation, respect…, all within the framework of the daily work with people with disabilities that serves as an impetus for social transformation.
In previous editions this recognition went to Gustavo Martín Garzo, Lorenzo González Torres and Juan Ramón Granell.
Leo Harlem received this year’s award for considering that he meets the values mentioned above, as well as for his extraordinary collaboration in multiple visibility campaigns, with respect and inclusive humor. A good example of this collaboration is the campaign “Somos Superación” (We are Overcoming), recorded in six micro videos with the protagonism of young people from Palencia, Segovia, Valladolid and Zamora who are cared for in the centers of Fundación Personas.
Recognition was also given to professionals who have been with Fundación Personas, Grupo Lince and Apadefim 2000 for 25 years. This tribute rewards not only their work career, representing the group of professionals, but also their talent, commitment and daily support to the capabilities of each person.
The event was completed with the lecture “Climate change in the heart” by the poet and editor Eduardo Fraile.
The date chosen is close to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, thus reinforcing a message of courage and social participation.
Fundación Personas is made up of 3,000 families, 2,500 people attended daily, 1,700 professionals (800 with disabilities) who, with a presence in 30 locations in Guardo, Palencia, Segovia, Valladolid and Zamora, guarantee our commitment to disability, being sensitive to situations of dependency and social exclusion, participating in the continuous improvement of Education, Social Services and Employment, building Community.
