Yesterday, Jesús Mazariegos, former CEO of Fundación Personas, was awarded the Prize for Contribution to the Development of Cooperativism and the Social Economy at a ceremony held at the Business Solutions Building in Arroyo de la Encomienda, Valladolid. This recognition, granted within the framework of the XV Cooperativism Awards organized by the Junta de Castilla y LeónThe award, given within the framework of the XV Cooperativism Awards organized by the Castilla y León Regional Government, highlights its more than 25 years of work promoting innovative projects in the field of disability.


During his speech, Mazariegos thanked Fundación Personas and Plena Inclusión Castilla y Leóninstitutions where he led transformative initiatives. He also highlighted the importance of the Social Economy for inclusion and development, reflecting on the need to address challenges such as the aging of people with disabilities in sheltered employment. He emotionally dedicated the award to the victims of the recent floods in Valencia and expressed his pride in the impact of his work in improving the lives of thousands of people.
The event was attended by the Vice President and Councilor for Family and Equal Opportunities, Isabel Blanco, who underlined the commitment of Castilla y León to the generation of inclusive employment, and highlighted the role of the Social Economy as a driver of development and territorial cohesion.
