Fundación Personas turned December 3 into a celebration shared throughout Castilla y León

A common agenda with more than twenty cultural and community actions commemorated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Among other activities, the program included the 2nd Valladolid City Council Social Fair at the Millennium Dome; the inauguration of the exhibition and dance show “Nuevos derroteros: Ways of inhabiting the museum” at the National Sculpture Museum; educational and community activities in Cuéllar; workshops and conferences in Palencia; awareness-raising actions in Zamora; school activities in Guardo; and the cross-cutting participation in the creative day of the MIRAR Project, held in Medina de Rioseco, which brought together creators, artists and users from all the delegations.

SEGOVIA

In Segovia, Fundación Personas participated in various activities organized on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The Claret School invited users of the La Lastrilla center to join the proposals prepared for the day, reinforcing the usual collaboration between both entities. In addition, the group of self-advocates from Segovia made a recording for the special 3D program of La 8 Segovia (RTVCyL). The delegation also participated in the event organized by the Accessibility Council of the Segovia City Council, which included the reading of the manifesto for inclusion.

CUÉLLAR (Segovia)

Early on December 3, the Segovia Delegation held an Open Day at the Mar de Pinares Center in Cuéllar, with the participation of local school groups. The morning included an initial reception, a talk given by the Psychology Department, a guided tour of the facilities and the mural activity “We are all capable”, a collaborative space in which students and people with disabilities worked together to make their abilities and talents visible. Also, on December 5, an inclusive theater performance by the Nuevos Horizontes group was held at the Day Center for the Elderly in Cuéllar.

PALENCIA

In Palencia, Fundación Personas actively participated in Disability Week, held from December 1 to 5, with a program focused on inclusive workshops and activities. On December 1, a special cooking workshop was held; on December 4, a music therapy workshop was held; and on December 5, an inter-workshop Parcheesi championship was held. In addition, the delegation was present at the main event of the Day of Persons with Disabilities, held on December 3 in the Plaza Mayor of Palencia, which included the reading of the manifesto, dance performances, guided dances and a chocolate party open to the public.

GUARDO (Palencia)

In Guardo, the Fundación Personas team took part in an educational day at CEIP El Otero, invited by the school itself. The activity included a visit to the facilities, a joint lunch and a collaborative dynamic in which students and people with intellectual disabilities shared experiences in an inclusive educational environment.

ZAMORA

In Zamora, Fundación Personas took part in the International Week of Functional Diversity promoted by the City Council, with an agenda that combined awareness, sports and community participation. On December 2, the podcast “Functional Diversity” was recorded in La Alhóndiga, and on December 3, the reading of the manifesto was held in the Assembly Hall, together with an exhibition of works created by the participants. Throughout the week, sports meetings were also held to promote coexistence and inclusive sports among entities and groups in the city.

VALLADOLID

In Valladolid, Fundación Personas participated in the 2nd Social Fair organized in the Millennium Dome, where it had a table at the Christmas market and took part in the reading of the manifesto during the institutional act in the afternoon, as part of a municipal program that included performances, information tables and a visit from the mayor. Also, on December 3, the exhibition and dance show “Nuevos derroteros” (New Directions) was inaugurated in the Rincón Rojo Hall of the National Sculpture Museum, a joint photography, video and dance project that invited visitors to explore new ways of inhabiting the museum and relating to art from the perspective of diversity.

MIRAR 3D: CREATIVE DAY WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF 190 CREATORS

The MIRAR Project celebrated 3D in Medina de Rioseco in a cultural and artistic event in which 190 creators and users from all the delegations of Fundación Personas took part. The program included a visit to the exhibition “History on two wheels”, the show “Long Live Inclusion!”, various activities in the Canal de Castilla area and a community meal. The day culminated with the concert “Mirar, Oír, Sentir” at the María Luisa Ponte Theater, the projection of audiovisuals, the presentation of the MIRAR 5.0 Cachacicleta, the creation of the collaborative mosaic Includiversión and the reading of the Manifesto for Inclusion, symbolic axis and closing of a shared and fully successful celebration.
