More than 60 people participated in the conference “Disability and Dependency in the Rural Environment”, held at the Casa del Parque de Sanabria with the aim of analyzing the challenges and opportunities that exist in rural areas such as the Sanabria region and to strengthen the networking of social services, entities and public institutions.
The institutional inauguration was carried out by Ramiro Silva Monterrubio, deputy of Personnel, Internal Regime, Social Policy and Family of the Provincial Council of Zamora, entity that has made possible the celebration of this day in the area. Sara Fernández, territorial manager of Social Services in Zamora, also intervened, highlighting the importance of bringing specialized support to rural areas.
On behalf of Fundación Personas, Daniel Clavero, general director, presented the work of the organization in the province and reiterated the commitment to continue strengthening resources in the less populated areas.



Presentation of the centers and services in Zamora
The meeting included the presentation of the centers and services that Fundación Personas develops in the province of Zamora. A video prepared for the occasion was shown and several speeches were given by Isidro Deza, delegate of Fundación Personas in Zamora, and Montse Sastre, coordinator in the area of El Puente de Sanabria, who explained the local reality and the specific needs of the territory.
Round table with key agents of the territory
One of the main points of the day was the round table “Resources, support and experiences”, with the participation of different social actors of reference in the region:
- Silver Economy
- INTECUM Program of the Social Services Management of the Junta de Castilla y León.
- Command of the Guardia Civil of Sanabria
- Social Action Office – CEAS, which provides services in the area of El Puente de Sanabria.
- ADISAC – La Voz
Their contributions made it possible to offer a broad and coordinated view of support for people with disabilities and dependent persons in rural areas, highlighting the role of prevention, proximity and inter-institutional collaboration.








A space to share and move forward together
The day concluded with a question and answer session and an exchange of experiences between professionals, families and institutional representatives, reinforcing the idea that inclusion is also built from the villages, with adapted resources, strong local networks and stable alliances between administrations and social entities.
Fundación Personas appreciates the participation of all attendees and the involvement of the Provincial Council of Zamora in the organization of this day, which is part of the commitment of the entity to improve the quality of life and support in rural areas.

Fundación Personas is a reference entity in Castilla y León with a social base of 3000 families and dedicated to the care of people with intellectual disabilities. Created in 2008 by five associations ((ADECAS Guardo, ASPANIS Palencia, APADEFIM Segovia, ASPRONA Valladolid and ASPROSUB Zamora) in the region, its purpose is to accompany people in all stages of their lives, providing the necessary individualized support, allowing them to develop their life project in a full and satisfactory way, with a vocation for social transformation.
