I-SOLATION Project
Innovative Technologies and Cooperation to Combat Unwanted Loneliness
What is I-Solation?
I-SOLATION is a collaborative project that seeks to combat unwanted loneliness in older people, especially in rural environments, through the integration of advanced technologies and intersectoral cooperation. The project brings together clusters, social entities, and companies from the tourism and social healthcare sectors to develop personalized solutions that improve the quality of life and emotional well-being of older people. Among its tools is the ‘Amaia App’, an application that uses artificial intelligence to assess the emotional and cognitive state of users, facilitating the early detection of risk situations and the design of adapted responses.
The following participated in the project: Aragon Health Cluster (Arahealth), the Innovative Solutions for Independent Living Cluster (SIVI), Hotel Balneario de Ariño S.L., Futuro y Vida Silver S.L., San Jorge University Foundation, FSMLR and Fundación Personas.
Who is it aimed at?
Older people in situations of unwanted loneliness, especially in rural areas with high rates of aging and depopulation. The project also benefits family members, social healthcare professionals, and local volunteers. A direct impact on approximately 200 older people in the pilot phase is estimated, with the potential for scalability.
What activities does it include?
– Development and validation of the ‘Amaia App’ application with artificial intelligence algorithms.
– Implementation of digital platforms to improve communication between older people, family members, and professionals.
– Technological training adapted to older people.
– Establishment of community support networks and intergenerational volunteering.
– Validation of prototypes in centers such as Tercera Actividad in Aguilar de Campoo (Palencia).
