IV Innovation and Best Practices Meeting

More than 100 professionals involved in the field of direct care shared experiences and knowledge through innovation and quality projects in Valladolid on 6 November. This event was part of the People Foundation’s 10th anniversary celebrations; ten years that have made it a benchmark organisation that helps thousands of people and families in Castile and León.

Six real work experience cases were presented, all of which were practical and with results that provide added value to the support provided to people with intellectual disabilities: “We go out too” (Palencia), “Our rights and our rules” (Segovia), “Music surrounds us” (Valladolid), “Direct illness and end-of-life care” (Zamora), “Exchange programme” (Guardo) and “Themed dinners” (Aguilar de Campoo).

The event was inaugurated by Pablo Rodríguez Hoyos, Director General of Family and Social Policies of the Regional Government of Castile and León and closed by Jesús Mazariegos, Director of the People Foundation.

The APROCOR Foundation’s ETAPPA team and David Rincón, psychologist withReal Valladolid,  talked about personal plans and the importance of emotional payoff. “Look after looking after ourselves” is the asset that was present at all times to unleash the best in everyone.
