Five families with more than one child with a disability received recognition for their extraordinary work.
More than 200 relatives of people with intellectual disabilities shared on Saturday, September 21 in La Lastrilla a day of internal cohesion among attendees from Guardo, Palencia, Segovia, Valladolid and Zamora under the slogan “Families: the strength of Fundación Personas“.
This success is preceded by the constant work of many families who for more than sixty years have built a model of quality care, with proximity and social commitment.
Ana Peñalosa councilor of Social Services of the City of Segovia, Azucena Suarez delegate of Social Action of the Provincial Council, Carmen Well territorial manager of Social Services of the Junta CyL and the mayor of La Lastrilla Vicente Calle were present. The hosts were the president of APADEFIM and the general director of Fundación Personas, Maximino Viloria and Jesús Mazariegos, respectively.
Fundación Personas provides daily assistance to 5,300 people with intellectual disabilities in Castilla y León, through comprehensive services throughout the life cycle in the fields of Education, Employment and Social Services.Maximino Viloria, Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Fundación Personas and President of APADEFIM Segovia, highlighted in his speech the historical, pioneering and forward-looking contribution of these honorees representing the 3,000 families.
It is our present obligation to continue providing the best response to each new need, so that people with intellectual disabilities can carry out their life project.
The following families were honored: González León from ASPANIS, Franco Martín from ADECAS, Fernández Velasco from ASPRONA, Campo Cimarras from ASPROSUB and Marinas Bernabé from APADEFIM.
