A meeting marked by participation, emotion and gratitude
On June 19, 2025, the Ordinary General Assembly of Asprona associates was held at the Obregón Center of Fundación Personas Valladolid.

Following the agenda, the Assembly unanimously approved Asprona’ s Social Report and the annual accounts for the year 2024. A detailed review was also given on the progress of the different centers and services managed by Fundación Personas, and the pilot project “Soledad 0” was presented , an exciting initiative that will be launched in the last quarter of the year with the aim of combating situations of unwanted isolation.

One of the most emotional moments of the day was the tribute to Angelines García, president of the Association since 2019 and a key figure for decades in the defense of the rights of people with intellectual disabilities, both in Asprona and in Fundación Personas, an entity that she has also chaired for the last six years.
Angelines announced the voluntary cessation of her responsibilities, a personal decision taken from the serenity and affection for the entity. From now on, Amando Cacho assumes the presidency of Asprona. Brother of a disabled person and historical member of the board of directors, Amando has a long history of commitment to the organization. His successor on the Board of Trustees will be Dulce de la Rosa, Jaime’s mother and also an active member of the Board of Directors. The presidency of Fundación Personas will now be headed by Carlos Martín, president of Apadefim, who is also an active member of the Board of Directors. Apadefim Segovia.
The Assembly wished to dedicate a warm recognition to Angelines for her tireless dedication. After the projection of an emotional video with images of her journey, she received symbolic gifts from her sons, Paco and David, and from Segunda, a user of the Obregón Center. Very moved, she addressed a few words of thanks to the attendees, the families, the professionals and, above all, the people with disabilities, “who have been, are and will always be the driving force of this house”. She also wanted to highlight the work and dedication of the professional teams, without whom, she said, “everything we have achieved would not have been possible”.

Both Mª Eugenia del Olmo and Amando Cacho himself dedicated some heartfelt words to Angelines, recognizing her example of commitment, humanity and firm defense of the rights of each and every one of the people who are part of the organization.
The Assembly concluded with refreshments in the center’s garden, creating a relaxed meeting space for families, professionals and attendees.
