Last week we held the 6th Social Innovation Meeting of Fundaci\u00f3n Personas<\/strong> under the slogan “People taking care of People: Innovation that matters”<\/strong>. A day, presented by journalist Esther Bermejo, which has already become a meeting point to see how innovation can improve the quality of life of people, always relying on the indispensable work of professionals. As a novelty this year, the event was broadcast live in streaming and was also recorded so that it could be viewed after the meeting. <\/p>\n\n

The program was full of content. \u00c1ngeles Garc\u00eda, president of Fundaci\u00f3n Personas<\/strong>, opened the morning by thanking the professionals who had come from the five delegations that the organization has in Castilla y Le\u00f3n and reminding them that, after the obligatory pause due to the pandemic, the program was full of content, the event had to be resumed because there was already a great desire to see each other. We need to know who we work with, who we are, I see many new faces, very young, whom I welcome with open arms. This morning we will talk about social innovation and how to make service quality, but remember that it is you who give warmth and from you have come the advances that have been made in recent years. <\/em><\/p>\n\n

The president concluded her speech by reminding the audience of the forthcoming retirement of Jesus Mazareigos<\/strong>The current general director of Fundaci\u00f3n Personas thanked him for his 10 years at the helm of the organization and invited him to come on stage to conclude the institutional presentations.I know very well what it costs to go and return to Guardo, to Puente de Sanabria, to Segovia, Valladolid, Puente de Sanabria…that’s why I thank all the people who have come today for their effort”. <\/em>A more innovation and technology-focused format was launched to take a closer look at what is being done at the regional level, through the Junta de Castilla y Le\u00f3n<\/mark><\/a>at a national level and abroad, in other countries. It is very important to transmit to all the people we work with what we are doing in Fundaci\u00f3n Personas in terms of innovation. Social innovation<\/strong> is not just about robotics or artificial intelligence. Social innovation. It also talks about another way of doing things, of taking care of people that are oriented to solve and cover their needs. Aging <\/strong>is a relevant problem that we will also talk about through programs and people who are already working with elderly people inside the house. <\/em><\/p>\n\n

After a couple of video projections that were viewed at FITECU, a round table discussion<\/strong> followed in which those responsible for Fundaci\u00f3n Personas’ programs shared what is being done in terms of social innovation at the moment. Specifically and in order, the Rural Care<\/strong> program was discussed , with Laura Merino; the INTECUM<\/mark><\/a> program with Lara Velasco; deinstitutionalized services, with M\u00aa Eugenia del Olmo; the unwanted loneliness program, with Esther Carmona; and energy efficiency in Fundaci\u00f3n Personas, with Jes\u00fas Mazariegos.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n

After a short coffee break, the day continued with a demo colloquium on technological innovation and cutting-edge solutions to make life safer, easier and more connected. The event was attended by Pablo Vi\u00f1as<\/strong>Director of the Health and Biomedical Department of CARTIF<\/mark><\/a><\/strong> and vice president of HISPAROB<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>the Spanish Technological Platform for Robotics, and Montse Fernandez<\/strong>manager of the CLUSTER SIVI<\/mark><\/a>,<\/strong> Innovative Solutions for Independent Living CyL. After several live demonstrations of robots, both speakers raised very interesting questions such as: Are technology and robots going to replace people, Are technology going to be well received by users, Is technology going to be accessible to the economy of the users, In the field of people with intellectual disabilities, the role of technology has a clear application as in the elderly?<\/p>\n\n

From the hand of the future general director and current manager of the LINCE Group<\/strong><\/mark><\/a>Daniel Clavero<\/strong>, the day included a time for group visits to the EPIC Center, <\/strong>InterConnected Training Center, to learn first-hand about the SAM<\/strong> Social Additive Manufactoring <\/em>project , a <\/em>3D social additive manufacturing project. <\/p>\n\n

The meeting was closed by Eduardo Garc\u00eda Brea<\/strong>, Director General for the Elderly, People with Disabilities and Dependency Care of the Regional Ministry of Family of the Junta de Castilla y Le\u00f3n. Family Council of the Regional Government of Castilla y Le\u00f3n.<\/mark><\/a>. Cooperation with the entire disability sector, which allows us to reach more people and in better conditions. A collaboration based on a shared leadership between the public and private sectors, which has been in place for many years and which allows us to have a very good model of care for the disabled and on which continuous improvements will be introduced. We understand innovation as an objective focused on that which improves people’s quality of life, but we also understand it as an attitude. <\/em><\/p>\n\n

About Fundaci\u00f3n Personas<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Fundaci\u00f3n Personas<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> was created in 2008 by five associations in Castilla y Le\u00f3n: ADECAS<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Guardo, ASPANIS<\/mark><\/a> <\/strong>Palencia, APADEFIM<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Segovia, ASPRONA<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Valladolid and ASPROSUB<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Zamora. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. To do this we provide comprehensive services, in the environment and covering all stages of the life cycle of a person. The founding associations belong to the family movement Plena Inclusion<\/a><\/strong> movement and bring 60 years of experience, share innovation and foster mutual collaboration.<\/p>\n\n

With a regional presence, we are present in 30 towns in Castilla y Le\u00f3n<\/strong>, urban centers and rural areas, where we attend to situations of disability or dependence and provide support for the promotion of personal autonomy. We also offer support and training to people at risk of social exclusion. Our activity is governed by criteria of quality and proximity in service; efficiency and transparency in management; equal opportunities, accessibility and respect for diversity as a driver of social transformation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

In the educational-care area<\/strong>, we manage 5,300 places daily in 75 centers, distributed in more than 30 locations in Valladolid, Palencia, Segovia and Zamora. In the labor area<\/strong>, Fundaci\u00f3n Personas has 3 Special Employment Centers<\/strong> (CEE) Lince Group<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> S.L.U., APADEFIM 2000 S.L.U.<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>. and CEE Fundaci\u00f3n Personas – with a workforce of 939 employees<\/strong>, more than 90% of whom have some type of disability.<\/p>\n\n
