The project, selected by CaixaBank<\/mark><\/a> y Caja Segovia Foundation<\/mark><\/a><\/mark>in the call for ‘Social Action Grants 2023, will train 11 people with intellectual disabilities from the Day and Occupational Centers of Fundaci\u00f3n Personas<\/mark><\/a> in Cu\u00e9llar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The project: “Gardening and ecological horticulture assistant<\/strong>” of Fundaci\u00f3n Personas in Cu\u00e9llar has been selected by CaixaBank and Fundaci\u00f3n Caja Segovia in the call for ‘Social Action Grants 2023’, which aims to promote local development and employment by supporting sectors of the population at risk of social exclusion and improving the quality of life of people with disabilities, the elderly and other socially vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n\n

One more year the entity Fundaci\u00f3n Personas in Cu\u00e9llar will launch a new training project for a total of 14 people with intellectual disabilities<\/strong> in the day-occupational center thanks to this economic collaboration with the Torre\u00f3n de Lozoya Foundation and CaixaBank.<\/p>\n\n

The objective of this project is to train<\/strong> a group of people with intellectual disabilities from the Ntra. Sra. de los \u00c1ngeles Center of Fundaci\u00f3n Personas Cu\u00e9llar in the skills and abilities<\/strong>, as well as in the social<\/strong> and communicational<\/strong> values<\/strong> necessary to carry out the tasks and functions of this training, which will allow them in the short term to have an occupational, therapeutic and rehabilitative training activity in their center. <\/p>\n\n

The specific objectives of the program are:<\/p>\n\n

\u25cf Identify and know the tasks and main characteristics of organic gardening and horticultureversus conventional, and the benefits in the production of organic products.<\/p>\n\n

\u25cf Use the main tools and tools needed to operate in an organic garden and gardens,as well as the rules of use and maintenance of them.<\/p>\n\n

\u25cf Perform, with the appropriate work techniques, the operations of an orchard and garden adjustingeach of the operations to the corresponding type of crop.<\/p>\n\n

\u25cf Acquire the necessary knowledge about the main product control and guarantee systems,providing the fundamental procedures for consumption.<\/p>\n\n

\u25cf Perform the main operations to initiate the conversion of conventional to ecological spaces.<\/p>\n\n

The project will begin on June 19<\/strong> and is scheduled to end on November 10, 2023, and it is intended to be maintained over time. The theoretical training will be carried out at the Ntra. Sra. de los \u00c1ngeles Center and the practical training in the facilities and services of the Fundaci\u00f3n Personas centers in Cu\u00e9llar and in the orchard itself. The main objective of these trainings is to achieve the normalization, inclusion and improvement of the quality of life of people with intellectual and\/or developmental disabilities, since the work favors their personal autonomy, their participation in the life of the community and improve their level of self-esteem.<\/p>\n\n

About Fundaci\u00f3n Personas<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Fundaci\u00f3n Personas<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> was created in 2008 by five associations in Castilla y Le\u00f3n: ADECAS<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Guardo, ASPANIS<\/mark><\/a> <\/strong>Palencia, APADEFIM<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Segovia, ASPRONA<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Valladolid and ASPROSUB<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Zamora. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. To do this we provide comprehensive services, in the environment and covering all stages of the life cycle of a person. The founding associations belong to the family movement Plena Inclusion<\/a><\/strong> movement and bring 60 years of experience, share innovation and foster mutual collaboration.<\/p>\n\n

With a regional presence, we are present in 30 towns in Castilla y Le\u00f3n<\/strong>, urban centers and rural areas, where we attend to situations of disability or dependence and provide support for the promotion of personal autonomy. We also offer support and training to people at risk of social exclusion. Our activity is governed by criteria of quality and proximity in service; efficiency and transparency in management; equal opportunities, accessibility and respect for diversity as a driver of social transformation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

In the educational-care area<\/strong>, we manage 5,300 places daily in 75 centers, distributed in more than 30 locations in Valladolid, Palencia, Segovia and Zamora. In the labor area<\/strong>, Fundaci\u00f3n Personas has 3 Special Employment Centers<\/strong> (CEE) Lince Group<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> S.L.U., APADEFIM 2000 S.L.U.<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>. and CEE Fundaci\u00f3n Personas – with a workforce of 939 employees<\/strong>, more than 90% of whom have some type of disability.<\/p>\n\n
