From the Personalized Itineraries Program for the social and labor insertion of people with disabilities 2023, financed by the Services Management and the European Social Fund European Social Fund<\/mark><\/a>that Fundaci\u00f3n Personas develops in the Horizon Office<\/mark><\/a>has launched a series of outings to learn about some of the labor resources available in the city of Valladolid, as well as to discover real work experiences in different jobs.<\/p>\n\n

On Tuesday, June 13, we visited a group of workers from Lince Group<\/mark><\/a> Parques y Jardines<\/strong> that works in Laguna de Duero. These workers, in turn, are people with intellectual disabilities participating in the Itineraries Program<\/strong>, who after going through different actions to improve their employability have found a job. <\/p>\n\n

The group of seven people who attended the activity, verified the physical demands and technical skills in the handling of machinery, such as blowers or brush cutters, that the position requires, as well as how rewarding it is to contribute to beautify the green spaces of the public spaces that all citizens enjoy.<\/p>\n\n

On Tuesday, June 20, the visit was made to the Archive of the Royal Chancery of Valladolid, to learn about the daily work of David Frechilla Calvo, a person with a disability who managed to pass the competitive examination and obtain a public employment position<\/strong> in the General Administration of the State as Assistant Janitor.<\/strong> David joined in December 2022 and since then he has been going to his post every day to carry out tasks such as customer service, telephone answering, mail management, support during visits to the archive, as well as identification and classification of documents in the archive’s deposits. <\/p>\n\n

The visit was attended by eighteen people who are currently participating in the Itineraries program<\/strong>, specifically in the preparation classes for public employment. The visit was very interesting and motivating for them, since in addition to learning directly about the tasks of the position for which they are preparing, as well as the skills and competencies necessary for an effective performance, it served to convince them that it is possible to get a position in the Public Administration. <\/p>\n\n

Fundaci\u00f3n Personas<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> was created in 2008 by five associations in Castilla y Le\u00f3n: ADECAS<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Guardo, ASPANIS<\/mark><\/a> <\/strong>Palencia, APADEFIM<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Segovia, ASPRONA<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Valladolid and ASPROSUB<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Zamora. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. To do this we provide comprehensive services, in the environment and covering all stages of the life cycle of a person. The founding associations belong to the family movement Plena Inclusion<\/a><\/strong> movement and bring 60 years of experience, share innovation and foster mutual collaboration.<\/p>\n\n

With a regional presence, we are present in 30 towns in Castilla y Le\u00f3n<\/strong>, urban centers and rural areas, where we attend to situations of disability or dependence and provide support for the promotion of personal autonomy. We also offer support and training to people at risk of social exclusion. Our activity is governed by criteria of quality and proximity in service; efficiency and transparency in management; equal opportunities, accessibility and respect for diversity as a driver of social transformation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

In the educational-care area<\/strong>, we manage 5,300 places daily in 75 centers, distributed in more than 30 locations in Valladolid, Palencia, Segovia and Zamora. In the labor area<\/strong>, Fundaci\u00f3n Personas has 3 Special Employment Centers<\/strong> (CEE) Lince Group<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> S.L.U., APADEFIM 2000 S.L.U.<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>. and CEE Fundaci\u00f3n Personas – with a workforce of 939 employees<\/strong>, more than 90% of whom have some type of disability.<\/p>\n\n
