The Regional Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities visited today the Obreg\u00f3n Residential Center of<\/strong> Fundaci\u00f3n Personas in Valladolid,<\/strong> recalling that the Regional Government has been collaborating with the center since 2002 by arranging six places for children with severe disabilities.<\/p>\n\n

During her visit, Isabel Blanco highlighted the great work they do with the children in these centers which, “in addition to being a home for the children, providing them with love and understanding, are prepared to offer the individualized and specialized attention they need, promoting the maximum development of their abilities and skills, allowing them to participate in the different environments and activities they may encounter in the course of their lives. In short, the aim is to achieve their full inclusion in our society and guarantee them a future in this land of opportunities that is Castilla y Le\u00f3n<\/strong>“. <\/p>\n\n

The Councilor for Family and Equal Opportunities also highlighted the role of the Obreg\u00f3n Residential Center in Valladolid of Fundaci\u00f3n Personas in the external care it provides to Ukrainian children from an orphanage who arrived in Castilla y Le\u00f3n at the beginning of the war.<\/strong> Specifically, from Fundaci\u00f3n Personas “they attended, before their schooling, 20 Ukrainian minors with disabilities who currently continue to attend activities in the afternoon”, said Isabel Blanco. <\/p>\n\n

The protection of children, the most vulnerable, is a commitment and a priority for the Junta de Castilla y Le\u00f3n. Even more so for children with disabilities who, due to their special needs, are exposed to greater deprivation and greater lack of protection. This was stated today by the Councilor for Family and Equal Opportunities, Isabel Blanco, during the visit “In case of neglect and risk it is essential to protect these children and provide them with comprehensive care adapted to their needs<\/strong>, with the physical and mental care they need as well as guaranteeing them access to a comprehensive education that allows their full development, in an environment where they find affection, bonds, security and stability,” explained the Councilor. <\/p>\n\n

To carry it out, Castilla y Le\u00f3n has an annual budget of more than 2 million euros and a network of eight specific residential centers to provide quality care for minors with disabilities protected by the Community and guarantee their rights.<\/strong> These centers are adapted to the different characteristics of the minors -psychophysical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, mental illness, severe disabilities…-, have 50 places available (37 currently occupied) and are located in the province of Avila, two in Salamanca, one in Leon, one in the province of Alava -for minors from Burgos- and two in Valladolid. <\/p>\n\n

Personas Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Fundaci\u00f3n Personas<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> was created in 2008 by five associations in Castilla y Le\u00f3n: ADECAS<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Guardo, ASPANIS<\/mark><\/a> <\/strong>Palencia, APADEFIM<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Segovia, ASPRONA<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Valladolid and ASPROSUB<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Zamora. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. To do this we provide comprehensive services, in the environment and covering all stages of the life cycle of a person. The founding associations belong to the family movement Plena Inclusion<\/a><\/strong> movement and bring 60 years of experience, share innovation and foster mutual collaboration.<\/p>\n\n

With a regional presence, we are present in 30 towns in Castilla y Le\u00f3n<\/strong>, urban centers and rural areas, where we attend to situations of disability or dependence and provide support for the promotion of personal autonomy. We also offer support and training to people at risk of social exclusion. Our activity is governed by criteria of quality and proximity in service; efficiency and transparency in management; equal opportunities, accessibility and respect for diversity as a driver of social transformation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

In the educational-care area<\/strong>, we manage 5,300 places daily in 75 centers, distributed in more than 30 locations in Valladolid, Palencia, Segovia and Zamora. In the labor area<\/strong>, Fundaci\u00f3n Personas has 3 Special Employment Centers<\/strong> (CEE) Lince Group<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> S.L.U., APADEFIM 2000 S.L.U.<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>. and CEE Fundaci\u00f3n Personas – with a workforce of 939 employees<\/strong>, more than 90% of whom have some type of disability.<\/p>\n\n
