The “Furniture restoration and transformation assistant” project of Fundaci\u00f3n Personas in Cu\u00e9llar was selected by Caixabank<\/mark><\/a> y Caja Segovia Foundation<\/mark><\/a> in the seventh call for ‘Grants for Social Action Projects 2022<\/strong>‘, which aims to promote local development and employment by supporting sectors of the population at risk of social exclusion and improving the quality of life of people with disabilities, the elderly and other socially vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n\n

<\/div>\n\n

One more year the entity Fundaci\u00f3n Personas in Cu\u00e9llar<\/strong> launched the training project for a total of 11 people<\/strong> with intellectual disabilities from the day and occupational centers, thanks to this economic collaboration with the Caja Segovia Foundation and Caixabank.<\/p>\n\n

The objective of this project was to train in the skills and abilities, as well as in the social<\/strong> and communicational values<\/strong> necessary to perform the tasks and functions of the furniture restoration and transformation assistant profile.<\/p>\n\n

This training will allow, in the short term and when circumstances allow it, to provide them with an occupation, being this occupation a protected and supported occupational activity. The evaluation of this project has been positive, with a high percentage of users achieving the proposed objectives. <\/p>\n\n

The main objective <\/strong>of these trainings is to achieve the normalization, inclusion and improvement of the quality of life of people with intellectual<\/strong> and\/or developmental disabilities<\/strong>, since the work favors their personal autonomy, their participation in the life of the community and improve their level of self-esteem. And this objective has been achieved, so the balance of the same is highly positive. <\/p>\n\n

Fundaci\u00f3n Caja Segovia<\/strong> carries out its activities within the province of Segovia and pursues the creation, support and execution of social, cultural and environmental projects, either on its own or in collaboration with others, preferably oriented towards research, education, culture, health and employment, always at the service of the general interests of Segovia. Thanks to this agreement, the Caja Segovia Foundation renews its commitment to the associative movement by promoting initiatives and projects that improve the living conditions of Segovian society. <\/p>\n\n

Personas Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Fundaci\u00f3n Personas<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> was created in 2008 by five associations in Castilla y Le\u00f3n: ADECAS<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Guardo, ASPANIS<\/mark><\/a> <\/strong>Palencia, APADEFIM<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Segovia, ASPRONA<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Valladolid and ASPROSUB<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Zamora. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. To do this we provide comprehensive services, in the environment and covering all stages of the life cycle of a person. The founding associations belong to the family movement Plena Inclusion<\/a><\/strong> movement and bring 60 years of experience, share innovation and foster mutual collaboration.<\/p>\n\n

With a regional presence, we are present in 30 towns in Castilla y Le\u00f3n<\/strong>, urban centers and rural areas, where we attend to situations of disability or dependence and provide support for the promotion of personal autonomy. We also offer support and training to people at risk of social exclusion. Our activity is governed by criteria of quality and proximity in service; efficiency and transparency in management; equal opportunities, accessibility and respect for diversity as a driver of social transformation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

In the educational-care area<\/strong>, we manage 5,300 places daily in 75 centers, distributed in more than 30 locations in Valladolid, Palencia, Segovia and Zamora. In the labor area<\/strong>, Fundaci\u00f3n Personas has 3 Special Employment Centers<\/strong> (CEE) Lince Group<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> S.L.U., APADEFIM 2000 S.L.U.<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>. and CEE Fundaci\u00f3n Personas – with a workforce of 939 employees<\/strong>, more than 90% of whom have some type of disability.<\/p>\n\n
