The users of the Dos Pinos<\/em> Day Center of Fundaci\u00f3n PERSONAS Valladolid<\/strong> have hand-painted dozens of personalized mugs with a moustache, the symbol of the Movember<\/em> movement that fights for change in the face of men’s health.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This year, the Butcher Brothers<\/mark><\/a> in Valladolid asked us to collaborate in this cause that encourages people to grow a moustache<\/strong> and wear it during the month of November to raise awareness about the importance of men’s health. And they are tackling it from prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention: we are tackling them all. <\/p>\n

In this way, in the daily workshops of the DOS PINOS Day Care Center in Valladolid<\/strong>, they have handcrafted the personalization of these supportive mugs.<\/p>\n

The money raised will go 100% to Movember Foundation<\/strong><\/a> and the financing of its projects. <\/p>\n

Since 2003, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.<\/p>\n

Personas Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fundaci\u00f3n Personas<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> was created in 2008 by five associations in Castilla y Le\u00f3n: ADECAS<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Guardo, ASPANIS<\/mark><\/a> <\/strong>Palencia, APADEFIM<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Segovia, ASPRONA<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Valladolid and ASPROSUB<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Zamora. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. To do this we provide comprehensive services, in the environment and covering all stages of the life cycle of a person. The founding associations belong to the family movement Plena Inclusion<\/a><\/strong> movement and bring 60 years of experience, share innovation and foster mutual collaboration.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

With a regional presence, we are present in 30 towns in Castilla y Le\u00f3n<\/strong>, urban centers and rural areas, where we attend to situations of disability or dependence and provide support for the promotion of personal autonomy. We also offer support and training to people at risk of social exclusion. Our activity is governed by criteria of quality and proximity in service; efficiency and transparency in management; equal opportunities, accessibility and respect for diversity as a driver of social transformation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the educational-care area<\/strong>, we manage 5,300 places daily in 75 centers, distributed in more than 30 locations in Valladolid, Palencia, Segovia and Zamora. In the labor area<\/strong>, Fundaci\u00f3n Personas has 3 Special Employment Centers<\/strong> (CEE) Lince Group<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> S.L.U., APADEFIM 2000 S.L.U.<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>. and CEE Fundaci\u00f3n Personas – with a workforce of 939 employees<\/strong>, more than 90% of whom have some type of disability.<\/p>\n
