December 3 is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a day to celebrate and recognize the diversity of abilities and needs of people with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n

To celebrate it in Valladolid<\/strong>, Fundaci\u00f3n Personas was present at the 1st Social Fair<\/strong> organized by the Valladolid City Council<\/mark><\/a> under the slogan“Our reason for being<\/strong>” and where a dozen associations and entities have the opportunity to disseminate our work.<\/p>\n\n

This event has been organized by the Department of Senior Citizens, Family and Social Services.<\/p>\n\n

We received the visit of the Mayor Jes\u00fas Julio Carnero and the Councilor for the Elderly, Family and Disability, Rodrigo Nieto, to whom we gave a demonstration of a workshop of badges and leather.<\/p>\n\n

Throughout the day, other workshops were held, such as the one on working with clay, which delighted those present.<\/p>\n\n

This Social Fair underlines Valladolid’s commitment to a society that values diversity and promotes active inclusion<\/strong>, and featured highlights including a musical performance by Fundaci\u00f3n SIFU, participatory workshops and a motivational lecture by sportsman \u00c1lvaro Bayona, a symbol of self-improvement and resilience.<\/p>\n\n

In Palencia<\/strong> we have participated in the reading of the manifesto organized by Provincial Federation of Associations of People with Disabilities<\/mark><\/a> in Palencia where we claim the accessibility and inclusion<\/strong> of all people with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n

At the Mar de Pinares<\/strong> Center in Cu\u00e9llar, an open day was held for fifth grade students of the San Gil school. The experience was very positive where we all shared experiences and inclusive activities<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

From Zamora<\/strong> we participated in the recording of a podcast <\/strong>of the program <\/strong>MuchoCuzeo<\/strong><\/mark><\/a> along with 3 other associations of Zamora: ONCE, Multiple Sclerosis and Mental Health of Zamora on the occasion of the week of functional diversity.<\/p>\n\n

In Segovia<\/strong> we went ahead and celebrated it last Sunday in the parish of the neighborhood with a commemorative mass<\/strong> with colleagues from other centers and neighbors from our neighborhood. We actively participated by reading the parts of the mass prepared for us by the priest of our neighborhood, Florentino. <\/p>\n\n

In Aguilar<\/strong> Film Festival we premiered the film So\u00f1adores<\/strong>, made up of six short films in which more than 60 people with intellectual diversity from Aguilar de Campoo, Guardo, Zamora, Palencia, Segovia and Valladolid participated. The film is part of the Mirar Project<\/strong><\/a><\/mark>project, an initiative of the Fundaci\u00f3n Personas and the la Caixa Foundation<\/mark><\/a> in which more than 350 creators have participated and which has as its mentor the popular comedian Leo Harlem<\/mark><\/a>Leo Harlem, who has traveled to Aguilar de Campoo to present the project and the projection. <\/p>\n\n

To end the day we gathered at the castle of Fuensalda\u00f1a<\/strong> where we spent a wonderful day full of surprises. A participatory, creative and sustainable proposal that provides opportunities for the diverse capabilities of each person. <\/p>\n\n

With the assistance of 95 creators of Proyecto MIRAR4.0-<\/strong> Fundaci\u00f3n Personas con Leo Harlem<\/mark><\/a>, La Caixa Foundation<\/a><\/mark> y AQUAVALL<\/mark><\/a>, Pico Pao<\/mark><\/a> in collaboration with VALLKIRIAS Pisuerga<\/mark><\/a>, Provincial Council of Valladolid<\/a><\/mark>Fuensalda\u00f1a Castle and SODEVA Avanza<\/a>.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n

We toasted to inclusion with water, a right that unites us and gives us life. We also inaugurated the mobile sculpture “La Dragoneta Inclusiva<\/strong>” made with the super powers of many people with intellectual diversity. <\/p>\n\n

About Fundaci\u00f3n Personas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Fundaci\u00f3n Personas<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> was created in 2008 by five associations in Castilla y Le\u00f3n: ADECAS<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Guardo, ASPANIS<\/mark><\/a> <\/strong>Palencia, APADEFIM<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Segovia, ASPRONA<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Valladolid and ASPROSUB<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> Zamora. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. To do this we provide comprehensive services, in the environment and covering all stages of the life cycle of a person. The founding associations belong to the family movement Plena Inclusion<\/a><\/strong> movement and bring 60 years of experience, share innovation and foster mutual collaboration.<\/p>\n\n

With a regional presence, we are present in 30 towns in Castilla y Le\u00f3n<\/strong>, urban centers and rural areas, where we attend to situations of disability or dependence and provide support for the promotion of personal autonomy. We also offer support and training to people at risk of social exclusion. Our activity is governed by criteria of quality and proximity in care; efficiency and transparency in management; equal opportunities, accessibility and respect for diversity as a driver of social transformation.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n

In the educational-care area<\/strong>, we manage 5,300 places daily in 75 centers, distributed in more than 30 locations in Valladolid, Palencia, Segovia and Zamora. In the labor area<\/strong>, Fundaci\u00f3n Personas has 3 Special Employment Centers<\/strong> (CEE) Lince Group<\/mark><\/strong><\/a> S.L.U., APADEFIM 2000 S.L.U.<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>. and CEE Fundaci\u00f3n Personas – with a workforce of 939 employees<\/strong>, more than 90% of whom have some type of disability.<\/p>\n\n
